Drug Addiction

The Individual Project of mine consists of four interactive posters that alert the awareness of drugs and their detrimental effects on people worldwide. The initial thought of drug addiction as a topic for my project arose from one of my best friend's personal experiences of drug usage. Looking at him being uncontrollable even though the amount of time I tried to turn him around from the drugs made me have more attention to the brutal reality of illicit drugs. As I go deeper through researching the drugs, the shock of their devastating impacts on human beings motivated me to spread the severity of illegal drugs to the public more visually. I thought interactive posters are the best means to seize viewers' attention and effectively convey the concept and warnings to the viewers because people tend to underestimate the fact in the texts. I deliberately planned to put the communicative elements as raw as possible to put a shock or even a surprise in the viewer's mind as I did.
Drug addiction in South Korea has been becoming a major serious issue, due to easier access to drugs for anyone through social media and online messages. Drug dealers usually transport the packaged drug to the individual buyer undetected by the method called 'throwing.' Tiny packaged drugs are hidden in unnoticeable places all over the public. To see the truth about the drug in South Korea, we must 'look closer.' All four posters could interact with viewers through red cellophane paper. By the color theory, the red cellophane paper will conceal the color of the red element of the posters and prominently reveal the blue color, the valid message of the poster. Posters beneath the red cellophane paper illustrate the truth of the negative impacts of illicit drugs on the human body. People start the drugs by various reasons - curiosity, a suggestion from a friend, or ignorance - but remember, you can't go back.
