The TEENS (TRUST, ENCOURAGE, ENGAGE, N[And], SHOW) project is a school violence prevention campaign based on TRUST between the school members, which will ENCOURAGE teenagers to oppose school violence actively. This campaign will allow students to ENGAGE in bullying prevention, ultimately SHOWING their will and vision to create a better school environment.

The first step of this campaign was to find the causes of school violence and the most prevalent form of school violence among teenagers through a survey of students currently attending Korean schools. Through this survey, the TEENS campaign aimed to figure out how society and the students should cope with, eradicate, and raise awareness of school violence.

After the survey, the TEENS Campaign wore a silicon bracelet with the primary phrase: TEENS (TRUST, ENCOURAGE, ENGAGE, N[And], SHOW), written on it by a group of students from a Korean High School. Here, the bracelet implies a sense of community in that students passionately oppose school violence and strongly agree with creating a safer school environment.

The weekly updated articles about school violence on the Unfiltered Project website and Instagram offer an opportunity to look at various incidents surrounding domestic school violence from diverse perspectives. Instead of criticizing the perpetrators, the news articles allow the readers to look back and move forward with eradicating school violence, ultimately questioning the entire school system surrounding teenagers.

I think stopping school violence can be achieved only when students are prominent leaders of the whole procedure. I hope the TEENS campaign will be an excellent opportunity to convey to many students the seriousness of school violence and why we should be more active in these issues.
